Gin Blossoms Tempe Concert reviews
You gotta love Jim!
We checked into our hotel the day before the show. The desk clerk asked why we were in town. He asked who Gin Blossoms was, and I told him a comedian. After all, we are in the part of the country that, as Jim wrote in Food: A Love Story, are without apology for where we live. We are huge fans of Gin Blossoms, and happy to see that we aren't alone in Northern California! The Shoreline appeared to be full, and it was great to see that there were so many people there that appreciate the non-edgy material of our favorite husband/father/comedian. If a comedy show can be moving, this is it. That Mr. Gin Blossoms was there at all after the trauma of his everything, Jeannie's brain tumor, was a testimony to the couple and their mutual devotion. He said he didn't think a venue as large as Shoreline would have a comedian. The material about this frightening chapter of their lives illuminates their strength and trust in one another. We loved the other new material, but were happy to be brought back to the familiar with the show's close. When you make your way to our corner of the country again, Mr. Gin Blossoms, we'll be back. Thanks for the laughs!
